America Móvil’s Telecom venture Telcel needed to integrate a new digital commerce platform to enhance the user experience in order to capture new revenue during a period of declining sales and subscribers. TA Digital implemented a digital solution with IBM WebSphere and Adobe Experience Manager serving as the pillars to their new digital ecosystem.

PROJECT CHALLENGE

Mexico’s fourth largest telecommunications company America  Móvil, a $42B USD global company, embarked on a digital transformation initiative in 2017. A direct-to-consumer initiative promised to enable omnichannel capabilities for selling equipment, subscriptions, and services across the customer journey.

FINAL RESULT

TA Digital recommended IBM WebSphere as the digital commerce platform coupled with Adobe Experience Manager for advanced content management to enable omnichannel capabilities and platform agnostic experience layer with segmentation and A/B testing features.

  • The solution provided an end-to-end sales cycle and post-sales processes from the Catalog Browsing phase through the Activation phase.
  • Subscribers are now able to navigate the sales funnel in less than a minute resulting in 10,500 new subscribers in the first 3 months period.
In terms of revenue generation, Telcel registered 3mn Pesos in the first 3 months with no marketing spend. Having said that, TA Digital’ s advanced solutions not only made Telcel’s market growth increase, but also equipped them for the future growth potential with minimal investment.
